Our Opuntia Prickly Pear Brandy is always right at home in a classic Paloma and is known to play very nicely with spice. We decided to bring both together for this picante version of a classic. Opuntia, fresh lime and Ojai Jelly’s Jalapeño Jelly create a fresh and spicy foundation upon which we layer the fresh and lightly sweetened East Imperial Grapefruit Soda.

Recipe (Each kit makes at least 8 Cocktails):
1.5 oz. Opuntia Prickly Pear Brandy
0.5 oz. lime juice (fresh squeezed if you have limes at home!)
0.5 oz. Jalapeno Jelly
3.5 oz. East Imperial Grapefruit Soda
While not a blended drink, we recommend dry blending the ingredients, which is to say we blend them without ice. Place brandy, lime juice and jelly in a blender. Blend on high for 15-20 seconds or until all jelly has been dissolved. Pour over ice and top with grapefruit soda. Give a couple light stirs and garnish with a lime wheel. Depending on the size of your blender, this may work best if you double the recipe and share half of it, or reserve half for later.
